Abstract

The energy consumptions of flow control by regulating valve and by frequency conversion in river model experiment’s water supply system are analyzed in details. Results show that the energy efficiency is lower and the wear of equipment is heavier by traditional regulating valve. On the contrary, by frequency conversion, the rotational speed of pump is directly controlled according to the flow, which saves the energy consumption of the water supply process to the maximum with the average energy saving efficiency up to 69%. The benefit of frequency conversion regulating is remarkable in the water supply system of river model experiment with high energy consumption. It’s of great value to be applied and popularized.
