Abstract

Photography is an important approach in geotechnical centrifuge model tests. It is intuitive, noncontact, and takes compression plane instead of points as the test object. It’s a technical difficulty to get clear and complete photos of geotechnical centrifuge model while it’s rotating with high speed. The authors introduced the principle of applying fixed-spot high-speed flash photography in geotechnical centrifuge. The determination of flash duration and power, the time-series synchronous control as well as the result of applying this photography system to geotechnical centrifuge were also presented.

Key words
