%X There are various kinds of waterproof geomembrane materials for earth rock dams. Due to the limitations of production process,the geomembranes have to be spliced when layed in a large area. Firstly,the principles and technical requirements for the on-site inspection of splicing quality are discussed with reference to the specifications. Research achievements of splicing geomembrane in China and abroad are summarized. What’s more,the splicing techniques are divided into physical methods and chemical methods. The working principle,application scope,advantages and defects of each method are presented in detail. Finally,problems in the current research are put forward.
