Abstract: Spatial information technology has been widely applied in water resources sector. To meet the actual requirement of water administration supervision, an active remote sensing monitoring system is established using multi-temporal high-resolution remote sensing image. The system consists of data collection and reduction, data processing, thematic information extraction and data service modules. Typical area is selected as experimental area to test the effectiveness of this system and the results prove that the remote sensing monitoring system is rapid, active, and covers wide range. It is reliable and can be used to support water administration supervision work in river basins.

Key words: spatial information, dynamic monitoring, water administration supervision, remote sensing image, resolution
